I started my entertaining career with a Skiffle Group in the 1950’s called “The Rocking Planets”. I was lead singer in various rock and roll groups in the 1960’s, the most successful being “The Moonspinners”. We played at a variety of venues including the Post Office Tower in the revolving restaurant and as well as being successful in our own right, we had a reputation for being a good support group. We supported such names as Marty Wilde, Joe Browne and many more.
I turned my hand to acting in the 80’s, and have played such diverse characters as Mr. Perks in “The Railway Children”, Mr. Humphries in “Are You Being Served”, Fagin in “Oliver” and many more. I have also appeared in many musicals including “Oklahoma”, “Anything Goes”, “Half A Sixpence” and had to learn to tap dance for the part of Geoffrey in “Stepping Out”.
I joined the MAD Theatre Company in the late 90’s who stage two shows a year raising money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. To date we have raised over £65,000.
